Mezzanine System
Mezzanine Floors are raised platforms constructed & installed in an open space in the Warehouse (rather than built as a part of the structure) to provide more space vertically.
These semi-permanent structures are usually Free-Standing, and can be easily dismantled and relocated. This helps in cost-cutting on additional premises and yet increases the area that can be utilized for storage purposes by almost 3 times.
Industrial mezzanine structures are a grid of horizontal beams and deck panels, supported by the structural steel columns. Mezzanine floors enable the working height of the warehouse space to be utilized to its full potential by doubling or tripling the surface area. They can be designed as storage areas, changing rooms or offices, among other concepts.
CHARACTERISTICS -
The mezzanine platform is a self-supporting walk-on steel construction. It is erected in an existing building.
APPLICATION -
Mezzanine platforms create additional storage areas on the platform itself and at the same time room underneath – e.g. for production. Compared with integral mezzanine floors, racking platforms offer many individual design options. For instance, they can also be used as order picking platforms.
OPERATION :
Mezzanine platforms can be designed so that not only hand pallet trucks but also electric forklift trucks can work on them. Forklift trucks or conveyor stake care of the material flow from ground level to the platform. Personnel access is provided by stairs.
ADVANTAGES -
- Increased surface area of warehouses and stores
- Efficient utilization of room height
- Flexibility on/underneath platform
- Quick and simple assembly
